Pat Boone Revisited ?

Remember when Pat Boone redid "Little Richard's" "Tutti Fruitti"? Rich said the white kids had Pat's record by the stereo and his under the bed.You don't mess with the original. Will the Republican Chuck D run out and pick cotton? Will the Republican Flavor Flav say Yessir Boss instead of Yea Boyee ? It ain't gonna' work. Here's some of the "steelo" from Michael Steele H/T Daily Kos:

"It's hard out here for a pimp.

Newly elected RNC Chairman Michael S. Steele plans an “off the hook” public relations offensive to attract younger voters, especially blacks and Hispanics, by applying the party's principles to “urban-suburban hip-hop settings.”

The RNC's first black chairman will “surprise everyone” when updating the party's image using the Internet and advertisements on radio, on television and in print, he told The Washington Times."

First it is patronizing to think that to speak to the "kids" they have to dumb down the message. Now President Obama did do some "dogwhistles" the Jay-Z shoulder brush, saying Aiiight, and saying that"he's ain't going for the okie doke".It took FOX a while to translate what he was doing, hell Steele didn't get it.Sorry Charlie,I don't think that people who "cling close to their guns" will be down wit' da brothers.

It won't work, but it will be funny! I see that David Gregory was dancing along with them.

I can't resist leaving a comment, because Karl Rove disgusts me. He is the kind of person I mean when i refer to people who are morally bankrupt, and I was so hoping he would stop invading my living room via my television. I really do think that he is an evil-minded person; if there were a poster for a child-molesting pervert, his is the first face that would come to my mind.
Next, to your cartoons. They are spot-on. But......I am still wondering.....where is the expression of moral outrage that we should be hearing?
I looked on line yesterday for the author of the quote "your liberty ends where my nose begins", and it was John Stuart Mills. Freedom entails a responsibility to monitor our own behaviors so that they do not infringe on other people's rights.
Then I looked up "freedom of speech". That hateful cartoon is NOT covered by the freedom of speech concept. Anything that incites, anything seditious, anything that terrorizes is excluded.
I believe that it is very clear to the American people that Mr. Obama is the "owner", if you will, of the stimulus package. There is just no plausable deniability for the post and their editors, and yet, there have been no consequences for them. Even the apolgy was not an apology.
There was a giant hue and cry after Imus callled the b-ball girl's team "Nappy-headed ho's". That was a tasteless, hurtful and offensive remark, and yet it came nowhere near the offensiveness of this cartoon. Advertisers were pulling their ads, Imus lost his job, and I do think he at least tried to make an effort to apologize.
I urge everyone to boycott the post and Fox tv channels and refuse to patronise the advertisers who sell their products on tv or in the paper. Since money is the god of the republicans, maybe making a ittle less would wake them up.
