Man, thank you for that! I forgot that McLaren had a video to that song. However the year the song was released was in was '83, the song was recorded in '82. The Sex Pistols had broken up in '79 in San Fransisco. But you have his resume correct; He managed Adam briefly, but thought a woman with Adam's image would work better, so he got rid of him. The joke was on McLaren of course, because Adam and the Ants had a way bigger following than the one-hit wonders, Bow Wow Wow and here is where my dual outlook of McLaren comes in; when he truly went on his own as an artist and producer in the early 80s, he showed that he was more than just a gimmicky manager with a colorful past. Duck Rock was an eclectic album that was before it's time mixing early Hip-Hop with world music particularly from the African diaspora. I also loved his rendition of madame Butterfly. I forget the latina singer who did it, but she was not famous opra singer at all.

Then on the other end, is Malcolm's darker past as a manger who lied, manipulated situations to get the side-show he wanted so his bands would get more press than sell records, he was just a terrible person for that. If you saw his own movie, Great rock N' Roll Swindle, he inadvertently shows that about him and his bullshit. This only gets confirmed years later in the movie, Filth. Either way, McLaren's career and accomplishment can't be ignored.

He was bad in more ways than one. Some would say that he was in the right place at the right time.Although Punk music was "invented" in America, Malcolm knew how to market it.

My song! Yes, me and all my friends thought this song was about us. What is he saying--"She's looking like a .." ? I agree with Brotherkomrade, Madame Butterfly was the ish..."My white honky, I do miss him..." That's what she was saying right?
