I hate them all on fox news...I wish I could delate the channel on the remote; every now and then my husband stops there and I have to throw his empty beer cans at the tv set. How any of them could label themselves journalist is totally beyond me. When I was young, my heros were the "muckrakers" of the late 19th and early twentieth century. I thought that was what journalists were supposed to do....look for the truth and publish it. Hah!
But the most annoying thing of all to me is calling a show "Hannity's America", like the country belongs to him.
I walked into a 7-11 once dressed in my nurses scrubs cuz I was on my way to work. There was a young asian man at the counter and this old bat was screaming at him "this is my country! My country! Not yours!"
Well I just couldn't resist. I said " what? oh my god this is your country? I didnt know. Have you got a mortgage on this country?"
She squabbled at me and turned purple and told me to mind my own business so I just laughed at her at her and went on my way.
But my point is this: there's a line in a Tracy Chapman song that goes"In back strees of america, they kill the dream of america" and that is exactly right, at least some of the time. People like hannity and o'reilly and limbaugh give a sort of tacit permission to hate to a cetain segment of the population. JFK said "if you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem" so hannity,o'reilly greta et al need to be tarred and feathered and run out of the country on rails! because this is OUR country.!
Their ratings are going down,people in the news field are losing their jobs, it bad. People want accurate news not propaganda.
